Minimally Invasive Dental Care

ITR (Interim Therapeutic Restorations)

These restorations are a great option for certain cavities on baby teeth.  This technique is much easier for young or apprehensive children to tolerate than traditional dentistry. The fillings often need to be replaced at a later time when your child can be more cooperative.

SDF (Silver Diamine Fluoride)

We use this for very young children to buy time to restore cavities when they can be more cooperative or in areas where no one will see, like between the back molars. This medicine is painted on a cavity and covered with fluoride varnish. It will harden the cavity and keep the tooth strong and healthy. The big drawback, the decay will stain black.
